That might have been the most bizarre first round ever. I mean, all the favorites win in the east and all the underdogs win in the west? I can’t imagine that’s ever happened before in any sport. Detroit doesn’t have good luck being a #1 seed, and that was the second time being knocked off by a #8 (1994 Sharks did them in too). As for the captain, Marleau has been a consistent player since being drafted second behind Thornton in 1997. I like Sharks in seven over the Oilers.
